

Suspect captured on security video using stolen property to purchase gift cards

Nottawasaga OPP investigating a series of thefts from motor vehicles, including one of the stolen items used to purchase gift cards.
On October 6, OPP responded to multiple reports of overnight vehicle break-ins at residential properties along the 11th Line in New Tecumseth.
"Several items were reported stolen, including passports, citizenship cards, debit and credit cards, health cards, SIN cards, driver's licences, sunglasses, a purse, a Canada Post ID badge, and keys," according to police. "Video surveillance from a nearby gas station captured a male suspect entering the store at approximately 7:28 a.m. that morning and purchasing $248 worth of prepaid gift cards using one of the stolen debit cards."

A white four-door BMW 328 bearing a stolen Ontario licence plate (CTJH 677) was observed fleeing the scene but has not yet been located by police.
