Indoor pool for New Tecumseth moves foward with study

The prospect of a public indoor swimming pool in New Tecumseth will take its most serious step forward with the commission of a $220,000 feasibility study approved by council Monday night.

An indoor pool always surveys at or near the top of "wants" as parks and recreation amenities.

​

The Indoor Pool Feasibility Study is expected to examine need, location, concept, site analysis, capital cost, operational business plan, funding strategy and design component and timeline for its construction.​

The bulk of financing a new pool would be through development charges, a fund soon to be replenished with millions of dollars from Honda's $15 billion electrification expansion in Alliston.
