Suspended Tottenham driver facing third impaired charges

A Tottenham man with a pair of impaired driving charges on his record is facing a third and other driving offences following his arrest last night in Base Borden.

 

At approximately 5 pm yesterday, a member of the OPP Central Region TIME team (Traffic Incident Enforcement Management) was on patrol in Angus when the officer attempted to stop a vehicle who registered an ALPR (Automated Licence Plate Recognition system) hit for being a suspended driver.  Nottawasaga OPP called in to assist after the driver failed to stop  and drove into Base Borden.

 

"Officers were able to locate the driver in the vehicle with the assistance of the Military Police and as a result the driver was also arrested for impaired driving consuming nearly four times the legal limit."

Michael Stratton, 43, of Tottenham is charged with:  

• Dangerous operation

• Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Flight from peace officer

• Driving while under suspension - Two Counts

• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor- Two Counts

"The accused was charged recently with two previous counts of impaired operation offences and as a result was held for a bail hearing."
