
Alliston teen facing murder charge in infant's death

Nottawasaga OPP have charged a 16-year-old with First Degree Murder in the death of a newborn.
On November 21, 2024, at approximately 1:30 pm, police were called to a residence in Alliston and discovered the lifeless body of the baby, triggering a suspicious death investigation. It has since been ruled a homicide.
Yesterday (Jan. 15) police arrested the suspect, who was also charged with Indignity to Dead Body. The accused remains in custody and was scheduled to virtually appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie today, to answer to the charges.
The Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
At this post police did not provide any further details.
