OPP's Automated Licence Plate Recognition locates stolen car in Angus

A vehicle reported stolen from Hamilton was located last night in Angus and its driver arrested and charged in its theft.

 

Shortly before 11 pm, Nottawasaga OPP officers were in the area of Massey Street when a black Kia Seltos set off their Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) alert.

"Officers located a lone male party near the vehicle and investigated," according to OPP. "Upon completion of the investigation, the male party was placed under arrest."

Brent Christopher Remy, 42, of Toronto is charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada- Two Counts

 

The accused was released with a court date  March 20.
