Echocardiograms to be available three days per week at Stevenson
Posted February 25, 2025
Starting in March, the echocardiogram program at Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) will be available three days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, boosting its diagnostics services including ultrasounds.
Echocardiogram services include standard, contrast, and saline bubble studies, graded exercise stress tests, and holter monitoring. A referral is required for all echocardiogram and ultrasound exams.
Several of the cardiac services were put on hold around the time that COVID began and they have returned, said Rachael Ogorek, Communications Manager, SMH.
"There is enhanced capacity for echocardiograms as well," said Ogorek. "Patients do have a choice to receive these services at the hospital, or at other clinics. We just wanted to help inform the public that booking these services at the hospital also supports the hospital from a funding perspective, as they may not be aware."
