Advance votes down in Ontario election cast over fewer days than previous years
Posted February 24, 2025
The first count of advance votes cast in the Feb. 27 provincial elections was 678,789 over three days last week, or 6.14 per cent of eligible voters in Ontario. That's down from 1,066,545 voters or 9.92 per cent of eligible voters in the June 2022 general election over 10 days of advance votes, while in 2018, 698,609 voters 6.8 per cent cast their ballot over five days.
Alliston and Tottenham hosted advance polls Feb.20-22. (At this post, Elections Ontario did not provide advance turnout by riding)
Qualified voters can still cast a ballot in person, in advance, at the Local Election Office, 818 Mosely St., Wasaga Beach, until 6 pm Feb. 26.
