Traffic stop ends in drug bust, Alliston pair charged

An obstructed rear license plate caught the attention of Nottawasaga OPP last night on Young Street, which led to a traffic stop, ending in the arrest of two males from Alliston facing several drug charges.
Police pulled the vehicle over at approximately 10 pm but did not reveal what led to the discovery of drugs.
Darryl Berdan, 40, of Alliston, is charged with Possession the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine; three counts Fail to Comply with Probation Order; Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and Possession for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine.
Jason Hoffarth, 41, of Alliston, is charged with Possession for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine; and Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine.
Both accused parties were held for a bail hearing and released on a release order.
