Home invasion in Utopia, two suspects at-large

Nottawasaga OPP investigating an alleged home invasion that occurred on the 9th Line of Essa (Utopia) near Pineview Trail, around noon today.

 

Police were called to the scene just after 12 pm while the incident was in progress, But the suspects fled the scene prior to OPP arrival.

"The preliminary investigation revealed that two unknown suspects believed to both be male, attended the address and forced entry into the house, and searching through the house prior to fleeing," accordin to OPP.  The two male suspects that entered the house are described as between 5'5 - 5'10 ft. tall wearing all black with ski mask and goggles.

 

One male's black jacket had a fur hood.

"The suspects possibly entered a grey or black sedan used to flee the scene. The vehicle in the photo is a vehicle of interest.

Police have no further description for the male suspects at this time and are encouraging residents to review their camera footage or dash cam for any suspicious activity that may be helpful in this investigation between 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday January 6, 2026."

This is believed to be a targeted incident and do not consider there to be any risk to public safety.

The investigation is ongoing led by the Nottawasaga OPP Major Crime Unit.
