Ministry money for growing childcare spaces at St. Paul's

Posted February 21, 2017

The Ministry of Education has allocated $1.5 million to create 49 childcare spaces at St. Paul's Catholic School in Alliston.

It is anticipated that these new spaces will be available in the 2018 - 2019 school year for toddlers and preschoolers as well as continued before and after school opportunities for school-aged children.

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board will work in partnership with the County of Simcoe to deliver these new childcare spaces.

"Alliston is a growing community, which is why it is so important to provide families with access to new childcare opportunities," said Brian Beal, Director of Education. "Schools are the perfect place to house new childcare spaces and so it is exciting to see the Ministry make such a substantial investment in this area - we look forward to working with our partners at the County of Simcoe to provide the Alliston community with this new childcare facility."
