Foul play suspected in death of woman found in Thornton

Police are seeking the public's assistance in Thornton death investigation where foul play is now suspected.

​

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, shortly before 11:30 a.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence near 10th Line and 10th Sideroad in Thornton, after human remains were located.

The preliminary postmortem determined the deceased to be an adult female. The identity has not yet been confirmed.

Local residents are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity. A continued police presence can be expected as the investigation progresses.
