A multi-jurisdictional drug investigation involving Dufferin, Nottawasaga, Caledon and South Simcoe Police started in the fall of 2024 culminated in drug raids on residences in Bradford and Shelburne between Feb. 19 and Feb. 25. Five people have been arrested.

Trump's tariffs hanging over Honda, execs mull shifting some Alliston production to Ohio

American President Donald Trump told a press conference this afternoon ahead of his first cabinet meeting, 25 per cent tariffs against Canada and Mexico will start April 2, and not March 4 as was previously announced, leaving Honda's manufacturing and EV plans in Alliston in limbo for an additional month.

Echocardiograms to be available three days per week at Stevenson

Nottawasaga OPP joined a multi-detachment raid on two homes in Innisfil yesterday morning related to a series of break and enters in Collingwood and Clearview Township over the past several months. Four people have been arrested in connection.

Honda, New Tecumseth to partner on wildlife habitat as legacy project

A town-owned parcel of land on Boyne Street ​in north end Alliston has been identified as a potential "signficant wildlife habitat" developed in partnership with Honda, which is looking to offset environmental impacts of its $15 billion expansion, "in order to ensure a net zero impact on ecological features and functions."

Honda's Mexican operations get a month reprieve, while Canada tariffs on the clock for tomorrow

While the U.S announced this morning a one month delay in slapping tariffs on Mexican exports, no such action at this post was extended to Canada, meaning President Donald Trump's order to apply 25 per cent tariffs on all goods, and 10 per cent on gas and oil, would come into effect at midnight tomorrow. Canada has proclaimed it will retaliate with targetted tariffs on American goods.
